Create a strategic, engaging online presence you (and your customers) love.

I believe that you should love your website. Not if your business is highly profitable — because you may never reach the profitability you seek if your website isn’t doing its job. Not if your business is established — because sometimes you need to dress for the job you want, not the one you have. Not if you have a crystal-clear vision — because that can be a moving target when your business is constantly evolving.

Whether you:

  • have dabbled in HTML and CSS before but need some design and content strategy to direct your experiments
  • just finished Marie Forleo’s B-School and need deeper, more detailed guidance to make your website happen
  • created your first free Squarespace or WordPress website three months ago and have no idea where to go from here
  • plan to work with a designer but want to start laying the groundwork (so you can hit the ground running and ensure a successful collaboration)
  • are bringing a business to life online and need a hands-on guide to creating a new website from the ground up
  • already have a website but want it to be more thoughtful, compelling, and strategic

…this program is designed to meet you where you’re at. It was created to complement the knowledge and skills you already have — to empower you to create a website that meets your present needs and lays a foundation for future growth.

photo-abby“As we all know, a website is a living, breathing thing that must be constantly tweaked to keep up with our business’s evolution. The skills and habits of perspective-taking you’re teaching in Love Your Website equip me to evolve my own website moving forward in significant ways. Thank you for creating this wildly useful and enjoyable program.” Abby Kerr

Why I made this program

For the last 10 years, I’ve worked one-on-one with over 100 entrepreneurs, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and corporations to create online experiences that are purposeful and meaningful (and beautiful too). But I’ve also had to tell dozens more entrepreneurs and business owners that hiring me wasn’t the right next step for them. I knew that it wasn’t the right time in their business to invest thousands of dollars in a custom website. At the same time, sending them off to the WordPress theme directory with nothing but my best wishes never felt right either.

I spent a few years creating a variety of new offerings with these people in mind. But it became clear that this was about more than a coaching session or a website header or a WordPress theme. It was about empowering people to synthesize strategy, design, and development the same way I do for my custom design clients.

That’s exactly what I do in this program. I walk you through the exact processes I follow in my one-on-one work, guiding you through things like content strategy, information architecture, the psychology of design, and page layout. Then, if you want to go deeper, I equip you with the tools and resources you need to bring your vision to life, crafting design elements and building your website itself.

When I work with my clients, I create websites that are created on purpose, for a purpose. In this program, I help you do the same.

Not sure if this program is for you?

Sign up for a free mini-course on the four big questions your homepage should answer (along with strategies for how to answer them).

Common questions

Who is this for?

Entrepreneurs and small business owners, especially if you’re doing business online. This course could also be good for professional and lifestyle bloggers who are planning to sell products or services (coaching, e-books, physical products, etc.) as well as burgeoning non-profit organizations. Whether you’re transforming your existing website or creating a new website from scratch, this course will help you do it strategically and intentionally.

Who is it NOT for?

In this course, I don’t teach HTML, CSS, or Photoshop. I provide resources for learning web languages and Adobe Creative Suite, but you won’t learn them in this class. If your digital strategy is dialed and you’re just trying to write custom code for your WordPress theme, this probably isn’t the right fit for you.

How is the self-paced course structured?

There are no drips, delays, or scheduling constraints. When you sign up, you receive immediate access to all of the course content. You can blaze through the lessons right away or work through the modules over weeks or months — it’s at your own pace. The lessons are designed to be read sequentially, so part 3 might not make sense if you skip part 2. But there’s nothing to stop you from jumping around if that’s your jam.

Will additional topics be added later?

This course will grow over time as I add brand-new lessons and expand existing topics. I plan to add lessons in response to my students’ needs, and I already have a list of videos I’d like to add this year. As content is added, the cost of the course will increase — but once you enroll, you’ll receive future additions for free.

Do you have a money-back guarantee?

If this course isn’t right for you, let me know within 14 days and I’ll issue a full refund. (I will request some details, though, so I can remove potential pitfalls for future students.)

How long can I access the course content?

You get forever access to the course — and free access to all future content.

Does the course use a specific platform (e.g. WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, Wix, etc.)?

The discovery, design, and delivery modules (which make up 80% of the course content) are relevant to all websites regardless of platform, so I’m confident that you’ll get a lot out of this course no matter where you create your website. That said, because WordPress and Squarespace are the platforms I recommend 99% of the time, the development module is focused on those two. The video tutorials are Squarespace-centric. The WordPress section includes a full complement of recommendations and how-tos but won’t teach you the technical ins-and-outs of any one specific theme or framework (such as Genesis or Thesis).

How does this course align with your custom design offerings?

I still believe in the power and value of custom-to-the-last-detail design. I’m still passionate about crafting couture digital goods and collaborating with entrepreneurs to bring businesses to life online. But I also believe that hiring a designer is a big decision. You need the right designer, and it needs to be the right time in your business. For some, that right time coincides with the birth of a business — but for many others, that right time comes much later. In the meantime, you shouldn’t have to apologize for the website you have. This course ensures that you never have to.

I purchased the workbook, but now I want to take the course. Is it possible to upgrade?

Yes! Send me an email and I’ll send you a special discount code to use when you sign up for the course.

What if I have more questions?
